Missouri's official service is the Missouri Victim Automated Notification System, or MOVANS. The current Missouri Victim Notification Portal receives reported changes from participating local jails and detention centers, MODOC offenders, and Missouri court events. A local result addresses an event supplied by the jail. A MODOC result concerns state custody or supervision. A court result helps explain the legal case but does not give a jail-door timestamp. A “released” or custody-changed result is a strong lead. It still may represent an exit to another custodian. Compare it with the sheriff's release record, the public Case.net disposition, or MODOC status. If an old accusation or photo appears elsewhere, pair it with the current official court outcome rather than treating the earlier item as the last word.
Schuyler County MOVANS Changed
Missouri moved MOVANS in-house in May 2026, with Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS managing data that had been supplied through the older VINELink arrangement. This change matters now. Local-jail users had to make a new registration effective May 6, 2026. Old registrations did not simply carry forward.

No Schuyler County MOVANS Result
Missouri DPS warns that an unsuccessful offender search can occur when a local jail is offline. In Schuyler County, a no-result screen is especially weak evidence because no official sheriff web roster was located. It cannot be labeled a release. It also does not prove the person was never booked or that another custodian did not receive the person.
First, contact MOVANS support and ask whether the relevant local source is available. Next, call the Schuyler County Sheriff at 660-956-9493 and ask whether the person is currently held.
